The American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) is a nonprofit organization made up of animal care professionals and related persons dedicated to conservation, education, and professional animal care in zoos and aquariums.
If you are a member of AAZK you are also automatically a member of our international (sister) organization the International Congress of Zookeepers.

The American Association of Zoo Keepers exists to advance excellence in the animal keeping profession, foster effective communication beneficial to animal care, support deserving conservation projects, and promote the preservation of our natural resources and animal life.
History:
The American Association of Zoo Keepers, Inc. began in 1967 in San Diego, California with the purpose of promoting professionalism in zoo keeping through the education of zoological staff members in the most modern and current techniques of captive exotic animal care.
AAZK's signature conservation event is Bowling for Rhinos (BFR) and helps protect and preserve rhinos in their natural habitat in Africa. 100% of all money raised is sent directly to the program. For more information, go to the national BFR website.
